Mission Statement

In the tradition of the oldest African-American Catholic Church in the United States, St. Francis Xavier is committed to meeting the Spiritual, Educational, and Social needs of our parishioners and surrounding community. In the sure hope and certainty that this will lead us to establish a profound relationship with Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.

We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, creator of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen.

We believe in one God the Father, in Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father.

Through him all things were made.

For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit he was born of the Virgin Mary, and became man.
